Total swing and a miss for Jeep. Majorly disappointing. Jeep brand is just completely lost at this point. I hope my current one holds together for a long time because I would not go buy a new Compass if my current one got totaled tomorrow.

Agreed, they've lost their way, but have you seen the alternatives?

I drive by a Ford dealership every day when I head to my coaching gig, and this week they have a shiny new silver Bronco Sport parked right out front loud and proud... looks cool but most likely you won't get rid of me that easily 😁

My silver Compass is still doing alright and unless it falls apart or gets smashed in a huge accident I don't plan on getting rid of this one any time soon. If something does happen to this Compass though.. I wouldn't want the new version!

We've come to enjoy the driving manners and creature comforts of these road-trim unibody "Jeeps", so we want to have at least one in our household for road trips and such. The thing is now that my wife has the fancy 2020 Cherokee High Altitude we don't really need my comparatively spartan 2017.5 Compass Limited to fill that household need. The Compass was hot stuff back when she drove a honda Civic, now its all but chopped liver in her eyes.

I could switch to a sports coupe at this point and we'd still be covered for road tripping and our preferred style of adventures with her Cherokee, so if I had to find something else to drive tomorrow because my Compass got rear-ended or the wheels fall off... I'd have a hayday of test driving ahead of me, maybe even give a Dodge Challenger a go...

If our Cherokee and Compass were parked side-by-side in the driveway and the big oak tree fell and crushed them both in one swoop... there is a pretty good chance we'd get another of the current version of the Cherokee (KL), maybe even a Grand Cherokee, but she would want to at least drive the Bronco Sport and the full-size Bronco just to see what was on offer. She would not want to get another Compass and I would have to agree, especially with them pushing the new models of the Compass in totally the wrong direction.

But hey, that's enough word vomit for the day right? I got things to do...
