New guy here from Louisiana. We’ve been interested in a compass since they first came out last year, but decided to wait for 2nd year production run. Searched and finally found a Jazz Blue 2WD with Tech and Sport Appearance package nearby and drove it home a month ago. At 42, this is the wife’s first new car and excited to (hopefully) have a worry free vehicle. I’m old school, so I did a break-in procedure for the first 600 miles and so far so good. at 900 miles on the OD, we’ve met the 31hwy mpg and roughly 18city for really short commutes. Will have the dealer change the oil/filter at 2k and future oil changes at 6k and then have Blackstone start tracking the oil samples and TBN. The dealer recently called us back for the FCA #U42, NHTSA#18V-279 front lower control arm welds, but all is good on ours. I’ve already found rims and a rear view dimming mirror from a Latitude from car-part.com. just need to convince the wife we need these upgrades smile:. Hoping to contribute and share our experiences with the new Compass. Alfred/Jen

The new Compass really snuck up on me and only came across it by accident while Googling new car deals. Glad I did as I think it is a real looker. Specs are good too. I nearly got a Sport but then the dealer and Jeep started chucking cash about and I got a Longtitude for less than the list price for the Sport.

I am also old school and running in for a few hundred miles. Up to 350 so far and feels really good. It’s a 1.6D and already averaging mid-50 mpg commuting and mid-60s on a run.

thanks for the welcome. so far we are loving the compass, there are a few bugs here and there which is to be expected, but nothing serious. at 1,400 miles on the OD, so far 31+ hwy driving and city around 16.5mpg. the wife has a heavy foot combined with really short commutes is a bad combination :). I've been able to squeeze out close to 20mpg.

I have Jeep Compass 4x4 sport over 4,000 miles on mine and it is a year old no problems and it works great in the winter . I got the Sport because it is less complicated and has a more simple radio compared to the higher specs. Too much gadgets causes more problems distractions. I have not went to the service department yet. Waiting for the next oil change.

x2, that's the same thought process we had. very happy with our purchase.

I keep getting a pop up message "needs approval from mod" to reply to any thread except for this one. can a mod contact me via email to resolve the issue? I've tried the link thru the "welcome" email I received, but had no luck. much appreciated, thanks,
