I bought myself a 2007 Jeep Compass sport model Freedom drive 1 cvt last week. Total price including tax and 2 year Lubrico powertrain+seals and gaskets warranty was $6634. The Compass has 157000 kilometers on it right now. I've ran about 3 tanks of gas through it so far and my average out of all 3 has been 22.8 mpg. Not as much as I hoped but looks to be about normal for these vehicles. I've got a few trouble codes, 2 codes for the intake manifold runners, 1 for the oil pressure switch, 1 for an oxygen sensor heater circuit, 1 cooling fan 2 high speed circuit (something like that) and 1 for something in the A/C system. I'm taking it back to the shop where I bought it on Thursday to have it checked.

I find the performance from a stop is ok, but above 40 mph it seems to be a little soft, so to speak. Would that have anything to do with those intake manifold runner trouble codes? Aside from those problems, I'm really liking it so far. It's easy to get in and out of, roomy and spacious without being too big, I really like the built in inverter, and the CVT isn't too hard to live with. I'm going to take it to a Jeep dealer next week to get the CVT fluid checked and see if there's any outstanding recalls or TSB's to be done. I put it up on ramps and looked underneath and I can see the rear crossmember/subframe was replaced at some point, it's noticeably newer looking than the rest of the vehicle. Here's a few pics and a 0-60 video!
