Hi, I'm picking up my new Compass Sport 4x4 on Monday night. I've decided to retire the 1995 Grand Cherokee with the "cash for clunkers" It's really not a clunker because the salesmen could't believe how nice it is for 171k plus miles. Best car I've ever own never a problem. It pains me to know that the 4.0L is going to die a terrible death. My 26 year old daughter posted on facebook that she is sad to see it go as she was involved as a child to order it special from the factory. Well the end of an era and wecome to my Inferno Red 26E package. How does everyone like their Compass's? What can I expect. I got the Sun and sound package also and CVT and RWL tires.

Welcome COMPASSDL, the Compass is the right kind of vehicle for the times. However I do offer a moment of silence for the passing of the Cherokee.

Just a thought, as they are going to give you the money for the "clunker" what if you stripped most of the parts before you drove it in. There has to be people that would want a spare tire, glove box door, heck even fenders or hood. Sell the parts on ebay. Not sure if that would work but if they are just going to crush it anyway could be your own personal stimulus program.
Welcome to the forum...........and to answer your question.............a lot of fun in the sun with the new wheels............good luck and pics are always welcome.
Welcome and congratulations on the new Compass! Please return and post more when you can. I predict that you will be very pleased with your Compass.
New Compass Sport

Congratulations and hope you have many trouble free miles with it. I love mine and know you will enjoy driving yours.
Welcome to this forum.
Hope to soon hear how you and your family like the new aquisition.
I like the ride sooo much, and feel sure that it will well replace the '95 G.Cherokee.
It is great to see new members again who actually are Compass enthusiasts, and not more flakes with nothing to add.

I know how you feel about the 4.0. I used the CARS for my '96 Cherokee SE (250k miles, a lot of those miles WAY offroad). Best vehicle I have ever owned. It was an absolutely reliable, durable vehicle, and knowing that they were going to "glass" the engine just about killed me. My 9 year old son cried when he found out we were trading it, but as soon as he found out we were getting another Jeep he perked right up. He did the math and realized that the new Compass will be his first car (in 7 years) if it lasts as well as the Cherokee. We let him pick the color (Sunburst Orange) and he's now calling it "my Compass." My wife didn't really like it at first, but as soon as she drove it, she was hooked!

2009 Sport 4x4, 2.4, CVT Sunburst Orange. Pictures soon!
BigDave WELCOME! We are glad you are here and know how to post. Congradulations on your son's new Compass. LOL. Yes we want to see those photos.

BigD love that color! Want to trade? That color must be rare for the Compass I have not seen it in person.

PS it is hard to type when you have a hungry bird trying to remove your ear.
It's the same color as mine. I have only seen one other one around my city the same color and they're copying my accessories :( boo
Indeed its quite an unusual color but it grows on you. I have the very popular bright silver metalic model. I hope you ge many safe miles driving this nfew Compass.
When we first saw it on the showroom floor, under the flourecent lights, it looked HORRIBLE. I thought "No way am I buying that Compass. That color is awful" but once they pulled it out into the sunlight, the color totally changed. It looked gorgeous.
Besides it's nice having a unique style and color on a vehicle. You never have wonder which white Honda accord in the parking lot is yours!

Ahh, the date stamp...I put new batteries in the camera and forgot to reset it. Pictures were really taken on 8-10-09.
Or maybe I'm a time traveler with the flux capacitor option installed in the Compass...;)
OH man... I want one too!!

Where were going, we dont need roads!!
Used to have a flux capacitor in my SHO Ford. My Compass has a Tardis that I picked up at a flea market. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TARDIS
