Manual Tranny

I joined the group, with a White Compass 2009 Jeep which I purchased in Ft. Mill, South Carolina during the Cash for Clunkers program. It has auto door locks, tint and above all, a manual 5 speed transmission. It is currently at the Jeep dealer in Charlotte, NC with a clunking noise in first gear. I have done some online searching and found a similar problem posted in 9-08. I will get back to the forum when I learn what is wrong with mine!

Welcome - I hope you get this issue resolved, or somehow it would self heal for you.
The 5-speed is truely a wonderful affair.

Wow . . . I heard we were to get between 10 and 20cm, but 40cm, curses.
Hate shoveling, but skiing in December, that's something I remember from my childhood days. Hope it is good, no trouble getting there with the Compass.

Hello all,

I live in Hull, Quebec, Canada and am the proud owner of 2007 Jeep Compass.
Went to dealer, price was 19k, bought privately and saved 10k!

Because I bought from a "French man", the manual is in French. Though I speak French, my reading is not that great.

Does anyone know how I can obtain an English manual?

Hello to all from Iowa, My wife has a 07 4x2 Compass Limited (bought it new)It has 21,000 on it and I have to say the front end components on this are junk !! We had the tie rods replced at 16,000 and now we need ball joints and of course there is no recall on the junk factory components (I call BS)Thank God my wife bought a Service Contract with only a 50.00 deductible so that has now payed for itself. Now that I've found this forum maybe I can anticipate what else is going to take a sh_t on this and be prepared. She bought this after owning an 03 Dodge Stratus with 0 problems in 29,000 miles (built by Mitsubishi!! though)I hope Chrysler Dodge have their prospective Heads out of their As_es these days on Quality. Sorry for the Rant

Welcome to the forum, I am starting to think maybe the moderator should open a spot for owners to gripe about the front end weakness many are complaining about . . . from what I see it seems serious enough that there should be a factory issued upgrade of components meeting JEEP specs. Seems to be something that should be addressed!
