I'm now an owner of a shiny new 2019 Compass Trailhawk. It was hiding in the dealer showroom when the wife and I went to look at a used Cherokee. We've only had it off road once so far but it seems like a capable little machine. Still tame enough for comfortable city driving too. I'm already thinking of upgrades so I'm happy to have found this forum.

Hi, everyone, what I enjoy most about my Compass are its 9 speed gearbox, navigation, and suspension!

Welcome to you both.

@100734, you may be in a minority here. A lot of us are frustrated with all those gears and the gear-hunting on hills. My jury is still out. I can live with the funkiness; what counts for me is longevity. See if I'm still happy at 200,000 miles.

@Woody-BC, there's lots of ideas on here. Use the search box and see what you turn up.

Hi everybody,
My girl & I just got our hands on a 2019 Compass Latitude, sun & sound package, we are in love with the car, it came with ski grey interior. however having drove it for 10K miles, we started to hear clunking noise in the front. I am activley looking for a solution and maybe an upgrade for this? any thoughts?

Welcome to the forum! My 2019 Compass came with plastic (!) sway bar links. There is a memo out saying that when they fail -- and they will -- they should be replaced with metal. That's what I did.

thank you Jasmin, how much did it cost?
I had other work done at the same time -- tires, LOF -- but breaking it down I believe it was about $220 parts and labor. My mechanic said the vehicle was safe, but the noise sure was obnoxious. I live on a dirt road and a lot of the asphalt roads around here are rough, especially with frost heaves in the winter, so I got them replaced. I've been probably 10,000 miles since and so far so good.

I just picked up my '22 MP TrailHawk yesterday. So far I love it, though the power is a bit lacking compared to my others. I just left a '21 Cherokee TrailHawk, and previously owned a 1992 Cherokee XJ 4.0, a 1998 Grand Cherokee ZJ 5.2, and I currently am replacing the 4.0 in my '03 Wrangler TJ.

So I love the Jeep brand and its heritage, and also their capabilities. I'll be testing this MP in its natural environment relatively soon.

Anyway, hello and Happy Thanksgiving to everyone on here.

Welcome to the site! I'm glad you like your new Compass. I've had Jeeps off & on since my '74 Cherokee SJ that I bought in '78. Mostly Wranglers, but also an XJ Cherokee, 2 Patriots, and now my 2nd Gen2 Compass (first Gen2 Compass got wrecked early). I will caution you, however, that our Compass is more of a Fiat than a Jeep -- some on this site are quite adamant about that.

I treat the Compass for what I believe it is: an AWD car with some off-road capability. It's comfortable on the highway, gets good fuel economy, has reasonable cargo space, is not fast but fast enough, and won't get stuck in the snow unless you do something idiotic.

Again, welcome!

Hello everyone!

I've been reading several posts on this community on the past weeks, since I acquired a 2012 Compass Limited FWD for commuting purposes chiefly.

I cannot help but thank u guys all for the time and knowledge you share, which I liken to a lantern in the dark of uncertainty.

A bit of a QUERY: In the case of a consultative topic, is a new thread the usual Way of Working? (e.g. Humming/whining noises with very particular conditions)

Hope all of u spent great Thanksgiving holidays with ur dearest ones!

Welcome!

Yes, the best way to bring a problem to the attention of others is to start a new thread in the appropriate forum with a brief description of the problem in the subject line.

Of if you use the search box above labeled "Search Community" you may find a thread where someone else has had a similar problem and with some luck there may be some solutions posted as well.

Again, welcome! I hope you find the info you need.

Therefore we can get some interaction going here. This Forum is underutilised!
My name is Pradeep. Live in Pune, India. Bought a Jeep Compass about 2 months ago. (BTW, they make Jeep Compass at a factory in Ranjangaon very close to my city and export it to APAC).

Bought a Petrol AT variant even though was warned by others that it is sluggish at start and a gas guzzler.

Found it quite ok. Have not really checked out fuel efficiency as yet.

Lets see.

I have Jeep Compass Limited AT 2021 bought 2 weeks back.
Beautiful car in dark green.
So far,the Compass in Compass is finicky and the passenger seat with a shopping bag wants a seat belt.
Thanks
I have bought the same two months ago. How is your experience so far in terms of acceleration and fuel efficiency?

Congratulations.
Fuel efficiency: Long drives 15-16 km/L at 70-90 Km/hr.
Most efficient at 70-90 Kmph range.
There is a lag when accelerating from 20-30 mph range to 70kmph but then catches up pretty fast , as if, the computer in the car has its own mind.

Welcome! The Compass is not a sports car but it's fast enough to get you where you're going on time. In the summer on a long consistent drive I easily get 30MPG or better. My fuel economy drops significantly in winter because of winter blend fuel and the increased rolling resistance of snow tires.

I hope you continue to like your Compass.
