Just picked it up today. Great vehicle BUT I can't believe the factory has not fitted the the Boston speakers?!?!

I have the full Nav system as a $2400 option and all the paper work included the Boston 9 speaker system with pull down tailgate and subwoofer. But they are not there?! I assume the other speakers are not not Boston either?

How could they make that mistake?

Slighty ruined the joy of getting a new Jeep!

PS...is there an easy way to find out what the other speakers are?!

PPS..if it can't be retrofitted, how much compensation do you think the dealer should offer for the lack of the Boston speakers? I still have the Nav unit.

shoot me your VIN number. i am a chrysler salesman and i can look up your options via VIN and tell you what you should have. do you still have your original window sticker?
Thanks mate but I'm in England. we don't have window stickers here...
really, no monronie lables? hmm...i find that terribly unusual. ok, well i may still be able to pull a build sheet for you based on vin.

on a related note, if the car has no window sticker, how do you know what options the car has, how much they cost, and what the cost of the car is? you may have gotten shafted.
I would think that it could be retrofitted. Did you notice it when you took delivery of it and what did they say?

Not sure about you guys but in the UK we order from the brochure and the car is built to order. We only buy used from the lot.

I ordered as per the brochure and paid as per the brochure but the Boston is missing. The dealer said that was US only but that was obviously untrue as they had the speakers on the demonstrator.

Not sure what my options are.

as i said both times above, give me your vin number and i can tell you what your car was supposed to have. your dealer may have screwed up when he ordered the car, in which case yes it's their fault, but you might be screwed.

here in the US, we have a new car lot just like a used car lot. that way you get to take your car the same day. but if you can't find one like how you want it, then you can place a factory order.
Most dealers remove them as part of the prep (which they charge for) when its sold. I don't believe they give them to you or save them.

You had better go and talk to the manager and find out what heck they did. Check you order details. Is it on it. The salesman may have left it out and then you're screwed or whatever they do in the UK. Bloody Hell eh!!
Boston 9 speaker system

I love my 9 speaker system. The 10 in subwoofer located at the right rear section of the car is ok but if you notice buzzing or ratt
ling around that area, it is not from the speaker itself but from the seat belt guide inside the plastic cover. This D shaped guide has a hole where the mounting screw goes in but this hole is a little too big and makes this belt guide rattle. Quite annoying actually. There are a number of ways to quiet this down but I won't go into it now. You can figure out the ways I'm sure.

The front oval speakers behind the round cover in the front doors are for bass only.

The sound from this system can be inproved dramatically by the addition of tweeters to the rear door oval speakers. They have to be mounted a special way with mounts that I made especially for this.

When I say the sound can be improved dramatically I really mean it and it did not cost me even a hundred bucks.

Sorry, I didn't think you'd be able to check a UK Jeep...I'll PM the number to you when I get a chance get it down.

In the uk you only have one option on the car, to have the Sound and Nav option or not. There is not a halfway house where you have the Nav head with base speakers or vice versa.

Someone has messed up....now I just need to sort it out.
PS, thanks for the advice and time guys.
So what did you find out?
So what did you find out?
The dealer ordered it without the Nav Audio option and then stuck in the head unit.

Whether he knew it should have come with the Boston speakers or simply hoped that I wouldn't notice is the big question!

Still awaiting a solution.
Its been a while since I posted on here.

I'm afraid to say that the sorry saga has been nothing but frustrating and rather upsetting. With Jeep UK trying to get the dealer to come up with a suitable solution but the dealer only coming up with a free service (seriously!?!) I'm left with no apparent option but to have the Mygig system pulled out and a refund of the option. So Im left with the base system and lower spec car to the one I want. No compensation at all either.

Not happy and really put off the jeep now. Its difficult to like something that is not what you wanted or ordered and which has caused this much stress for 2 months.

:(
To be fair, this sounds like a dealer issue and not specifically a Jeep issue.

Well in Canada there are Auto Buyer protecion groups such as CAMVAP & APA. I am sure there is something in the UK. File with the respective organization and push for buy back. An arbitrator will assess your case and handle it accordingly. If they rule in your favour and grant the buy back the manufacturer must abide by the decision and amount awarded.

Look into that and then you can move on. They should never have given you the vehicle if it was improperly configured and order the correct one.
Further thought on this and as "Giantsnation" put it. I does appear to be a dealer issue. Regardless of what was said the only thing that count with options and configurations. I based on the OEM configuration and upgrade/options list on your contract. Look it over again. If the Nav and Boston sound system are clearly part of it. You definity have a dealer issue as they did not order the build you agreed to.

You'll have to likely hire a lawyer and take them to court but there may be other options for the approach. I would not wait too long since attempt to add them have recently failed.
