Hello Everyone!
I have a 2016 Jeep Compass with a 2.0L and around 63k miles (just out of the 5 year/60k powertrain warranty). Last night I was on the way back from Nashville airport, which is about 100 miles away from my house. The car was parked at the airport lot for 7 days while I was out of town and I had only been on the road for about 20-30 miles when my check engine light came on. I did not notice any issues the rest of the way home, but took it up to AutoZone today and checked the code and it came back with a P000A (Camshaft Position Slow Response - Bank 1). I took it home and haven't a chance to look too much into the engine area, but I did notice there was a recall on the 2016 compasses for this issue, but it only affected those produced between May 2016 and July 2016, which mine was produced in March 2016 so I wasn't covered.

Has anyone run into this issue? If so, what did you find? I thought about just running up to autozone and grabbing a $20 CMP sensor and slapping it on there to see if it would work since it's easy to get to and cheap. Just from looking around the internet, it looks like it can be a wide variety of issues, such as the following:
-improper oil supply
-faulty CMP
-faulty oil control valve
-faulty VVT actuator
-timing chain problems
-wiring problems
-faulty pcm

I used to be a diesel tech for several years at various dealerships, so I'm familiar with how to do things on here, but haven't ran into this code before, so looking for help from you guys!

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Hello, swapping the sensor sounds like a good idea. It is also cheap and a easy thing to at least try. If that is the only code you got, it might just be a sensor issue. Except a wiring problem, I assume most of these issues would throw multiple codes
