Hi! I'm new to the forum, so please let me know if I make any rookie mistakes.

So we have an '09 Jeep Compass 2.4 Limited in Rallye spec with a Startech stereo. While the four speakers produce quite the sound and are satisfactory, a standard head unit is fitted to the car. As it is a European car, this means we do not even have an AUX input (I believe the US ones do, but in the place where they have the input, we have a button labelled 'RND PTY'). It has bothered me to bits, trying to find a way of playing music from my phone in the car. Currently, I am using an FM transmitter, but that is just not cutting it in terms of sound quality.

Does anybody have any experience converting their stereo to a new unit (something Chinese perhaps, or an aftermarket Pioneer unit with Apple Carplay even) or does somebody know a way of easily connecting a phone to the car to play music?

Thanks in advance.
