Avid Autoblog fan here, and yeah, that one looks really cool! Take it you are also familiar with the Startech Compass? They also had that one on their site. I had thought about adding the rallye lights as well, but still debating that one. I am not sure if I like the "bug eye" look on the Compass, or if it just makes it look a little too far out for the American production version. I will let you all know what I decide. Maybe if I saw one in person, then I could really make up my mind.

P.S. - I have a lot of family in Tampa. I hail from Melbourne, FL myself, before Louisiana, of course, a few years ago!!!

Gotta agree Compa, me either, just waiting to see who does what first, as far as actual Compass owners go, that is, not just weekend tuners.

I actually like the lights. I guess it's because it resembles more of the orginal concept of the Jeep Compass.

All well, next lump of money I get, I plan on adding the lights, so I'll keep you guys posted.

Jeep introduces Compass Rallye package from Mopar

http://www.autoblog.com/2007/05/03/jeep-introduces-compass-rallye-package-from-mopar/

Finally, about $1,900 for the limited edition package. I'm not sure how much it costs if you add it after you've already bought the car. But I'm going to try and get a price quote from the dealer in a few weeks. I'll keep you posted.

"Available for 4x2 and 4x4 models, the Rallye Package goes for $1,985 (Sport) and $1,850 (Limited) and includes black-painted 18-inch aluminum wheels, a roof-mounted rear spoiler, pair of auxiliary driving lights mounted up front, a Mopar body kit that spruces up the front fascia and adds new rocker panels, a "Bright" exhaust tip and the requisite chrome Rallye badges."

I have a call into my chrysler hookup as we speak.

He's looking for pricing fore here in canada (he is well known to wheel and deal so I know I won't pay anywhere near MSRP).

As long as the little lady likes it I think we'll get it. It would look better lowered, but I don't thing I'd want to go there.

As well, looks like I'll probablt have to order the rims too, which isn't great, but I'll just sell whatever set we go with 8)

Hey,

I am buying a compass in the next month or so, but I was wondering if anyone here knows if dealerships in Canada will install the Rallye Kits (if possible to get them from a dealer in the USA)? I have tried to contact a few dealerships and they are going to get back to me, but I just wanted to know if anyone here knows any information about it.

Any information would be awsome.

Thanks

Where are you at? Dealerships should be able to do it. I'm in contact with a dealer in alberta for a price (again should be a fair but less than msrp) on the kit and will have it installed by a bodyman in Calgary.

I'll keep you all posted.

Im located in Toronto. I actually just recently got a call back from a dealer who I thought left me with no answer, and he stated that he was able to get the entire kit in without any trouble, and install would be cheaper obviously if the car was bought new, but if I were to buy it aftermarket, then the kit was around $1,500 Installed and Painted and the lights were something like $150 Installed. Thats just what I was quoted and like I said, if when the car is purchased, they could put the kit on during the build and it would make it significantly cheaper.

If you have anything to add please do as the more info the better.

Thanks for replying

If that is what I have to look forward to, 1500+150 then that will be good. I was concerned I would HAVE to get the rims, which I would rather not.

I am worried about availability at this point as some of the articles I've read have stated they are taking preorders.

In any case, I'll keep you all in the loop if I find out more. 8)

damn... a couple dealers here seem to be having trouble identifying part numbers for the stuff..

I keep hearing it is a factory order option only. I hope they change it ASAP..

Yeah the dealer told me I would have to come in. He said it was only a package for new vehicle and we would have to through and look up part numbers. Works for me as I don't want all that comes with the package. But I would think it would be aftermarket as well. It's MOPAR. And it's nothing extreme, that can't be too easily replaced.

I talked to another dealer who actually could see JUST the body kit in the system, and said it was blocked for ordering.

So maybe progress is being made.

He had me specify a color and I know they listed the available colors so that may be a gift and a curse. Longer to get stocked up, but available witha factory paintjob.

I emailed mopar supercenter today and I'll advise when they let me know what is shaking.

Rallye

The dealer finally called me back and quoted me a price for a Rallye kit for my new Compass. He told me the kit would be $1300 and $234 for installation. I guess that's not too bad, but it's a shame that the wheels are not included (especially when if you get it from the factory with the rally kit it only costs $1900 - including the 18" wheels).

Now I'm a little undecided on wheter I'm going to purchase the wheels first and then get the rally kit later, but what ever I do...I'm really liking my new Compass!

Unfortunately I have the Jeep Green Compass and they do not yet have the kit for it. In order to do it I'd have to buy the primed edition and then have it painted. So I can only imagine how much that will cost. I'm going to try and visit the dealer's body shop tomorrow for a price quote.

So I finally ordered my Primed Rallye Kit last week. Paid the $1,050 for it. Little did I know the price I will really have to pay. I had no idea the cost would be so high to have it painted to match my Jeep Green Compass. So far I've gotten two quotes.

One at a dealer's body shop. They have never done anything like this before but are willing to give it a try and seem confident in doing so. They gave me a quote for $1,000.24. I can't believe it will actually cost just as much as the kit itself. They are predicting it to take 10 hours in Body Labor, 7.8 hours in Paint Labor and "7.8 hours" in Paint Supplies. So $420.00 to install and $514.80 to paint.

I decided to try and find more estimates since this is so much. I went to a custom installation shop after being denied at two other body shops, saying they don't do that kind of work. The custom shop quoted me $750 to paint and about $150 to install; total $900.00.

So I'm still out searching for more shops, maybe some with more reasonable prices. The instructions for installation don't actually look that difficult. It seems as though it might "clip on" to the original bumper with installation of brackets. But I would much rather someone else do it, then try myself and screw up and ruin a $1,000 kit.

Anyone have any suggestions, or maybe ideas of how much something like this should actually cost? Should I keep search or just fork over the $1,000 and have someone reliable do it?

Pay the $1000 and have the dealer do it properly.
He will best match your paint and be best able to get tech help should he need it.

leeparts.com has the body kit, wheels, badges and spoiler all seperate for ordering, and I know that you can get the "driving lights" from jeep are those the bumper mounted rally style lights?

yeah I believe so. I think the dealer said it would be around $300 for the rally lights. I already have the bodykit, just have to get it painted and installed. I found another company that was willing to do it for $750 total. But I was thinking of getting the rally lights beforehand and just getting everything done at once.
