In 2010, we purchased a 2010 Jeep Compass. 4 weeks after we bought it, there was a hail storm which caused $2,500.00 in damage. 2 weeks after that, we got rearended, causing $2,600.00 of damage, and whiplash and lower back injuries to my husband and I.

Anyway, this past Tuesday a.m., I got rear-ended, by a hit and run driver. The low life who hit me parked his vehicle on the side street and got out and ran away, The Compass goes to the shop today. He hit me so hard, the front end of my Compass was up on the sidewalk. Lots of rear end damage, and I think my frame is bent, as it pulls to the left, the suspension doesn't feel the same and it doesn't steer the same.

Wow that sucks!!! I would fight to have it totalled if the frame is really bad. Also if he parked his car, didn't the cops find out who he was?
Good luck.

That totally sucks! Sure hope you made it out of this one with no injuries though and hope they catch the person who did it!

47 days after getting rear-ended, and I'm still waiting for it to come back from the bodyshop. $9,600.00 plus damage. The first lift gate sent out by Chrysler has bent, and had to be sent back. The second lift gate was also bent, so a third was ordered. Heard that the parts were in the paint booth yesterday, so I've got my fingers crossed that we will have it as early as next week.

The low life who hit me, parked his car, and ran away was uninsured. I haven't heard if he had any charges against him. Luckily, my husband believes in low deductibles, so we only have to pay $100.00 out of pocket.

When I was hit, the Compass was pushed on the sidewalk. Guess this says alot for the safety built into the Compass. I just had slight pain in my neck and back.

We talked about trading in the Compass, but have decided to see what it drives like and looks like after we get it back.

The other day, my husband said, "Hey honey, didn't we used to own a Jeep?". It's been so long, I don't even remember what the inside looks like, or how it drives.

By the day, my loaner is a Chevy Impala. Reminds me why we drive a Jeep. Last Sunday we had 11" of snow. I wasn't even able to pull the Impala from in front of my house when I attempted to go to work that night. I ended up getting stuck, I couldn't even rock it back and forth, it just kept pushing the snow. I ended up having to have a tow truck come and pull me out. My roadside insurance from my insurance co. will only pay for the insured vehicle, so it cost me $80.00 and I was 4 & 1/2 hrs late to work.

Needless to say, all I want for Christmas is my Jeep back.
