Hello everyone I have a question. My wife has a 2017 Jeep Compass with remote start. When she gets out of the Jeep she makes sure the AC is on. Later on when she starts the Jeep with Remote Start the AC doesn't work. Only when she press the brake and start button does the AC kick in.
Other wise the AC works perfect. We did reach out to the dealership and they had no idea. But they noticed when they try other Jeep Compass in their lot, It was doing the same thing! AC not turning on while remote start in use. BUT the limited models did work with the AC on while using the remote start. I might have discovered something here.
Anyone else having this issue?? Please Help!!

My kids does. It also turns on the ventilated seat when it's hot and the seat/steering wheel heater and wiper deicer when it's cold. (Trailhawk)

I dont have a problem on TH either. Does the car have an Auto AC? I am not sure if it would work on a manual AC. Also check the uconnect settings, there is a setting that manages whats turns on with remote start.

I know they allude to it in the user manual but the manual honestly has a lot of typos, AFAIK there are no versions or trims of the 2nd gen compass in the United States that actually have the ventilated seats? I think its just copy and pasted text from the manuals of other models that didn't get fixed, saved by the umbrella statement of "if equipped" (I hate that term).

In terms of descriptions given in the manual for remote start, nowhere can I find any reference stating that it is expected behavior for the AC to come on during a remote start operation in hot weather. It says the (non existant) ventilated driver's seat would come on if the temp is over 80 degrees F but it does not say anything about AC. I think the true behavior is undocumented because my experience all of last winter was that defrost would run full-blast on remote starts in the cold but it doesn't say thats whats happening in the manual anywhere :dunno:

Yeah strange, I couldn't find anything about this on the manual either. But my AC definitely turns on with remote start. And since it is an auto-AC unit, it automatically blasts if the inside temperature is high. But I dont know if it will work on a manual AC model. Maybe if you turn the AC to full blast before you turn off the car and remote start it afterwards, it might continue with the full blast setting.
