This happened once before, long ago.
I was on the highway with the roof open in the vent position.
It would not close. Each time I would try it would revert to the vent position.
I gave up after many tries, but when I got home, stopped and restarted the Jeep, the roof shut properly first try.
Hummmm?

Maybe it thought you were just having too beautiful a day to leave it closed, lol! Seriously, hope it's just a fluke and operation resumes as normal.

That same thing has happened on another car we had... it was doing it because there was some debris stuck in there so it was automatically cancelling the close action to save the motor I presume, or for safety reasons (like a garage door lol). Maybe there was a leaf in there and it dislodged by the time you restarted the car? :)

Our old elantra would just stop half way thru closing and open again, which was a real pain. it would do it sometimes and be fine soon after. My theory is that the sunroof could somehow sense resistance and stopped closing. Whether the resistance was imagined or real is another matter ie it was probably just malfunctioning in classic korean car style.
