Hello everyone I searched this topic but im not sure what to replace now. I have an 07 compass and the right turn signal is hyper flashing. I noticed the front was out so I replaced it and it still hyper flashed. I wound up replacing the bulb a few more times and swapped bulbs from the other sides still nothing. I have cleaned the harness and adapter piece still happens... strange part i just noticed today since the cars reflection was on a window, if the parking lights are off the front bulb will flash. When there on it wont flash. ??? anyone have any sort of direction I can go with this next?

Today I replaced the turn signal switch to just try it and that didnt change anything. I was thinking that maybe the turn signal lamp socket or TIPM?

Front and Rear work in tandem. Its not unusual for an element to cross connect screw up the current path. Everything makes no sense. Check the rear bulb as well although it usually a single circuit yellow but check anyway. NOTE: Any dual element bulb gone wrong can cause this loop.

I would check the sockets for sure. Dual filament bulbs can have one filament burn out and that'll do hyperflash. Using the exact same bulbs too right ?

I've replaced these bulbs with a new pack and swapped with the left side. The bulbs are fine. It just seems focused only to the passenger front. Possible TIPM?

I think you're overlooking something. Wiring can be a problem but you need to eliminate the facts first.
TIPM is extremely unlikely given that
- one flasher is used for all signalling
- same flasher for both sides
- one drives front and rear light elements of each side

For this not to be the case a more expensive design would have to have been used to split front/back & left right. Auto makers don't do that and never have certainly not in this class of vehicle.

If you aren't getting front element lighting up then metering the socket is a must for voltage or power with light driven electrical probe. I re read the 1st post. Can you clarify that the light does come on with parking/headlights on???? Only and dark and off with neither??? The rear are normal in all modes?



As always is all in the details and symptoms.

Thats the tough part about consulting on an issue from over the interwebs. You have to be extremely clear and thorough in what's going on. What the problem is, how it reacts under every different function, what exactly you've tried, and then what tests you can possibly do to locate where the exact issue is.

No parking lights on, the right side hyper flashes - rear lights up bright the front is dim. Lights on, they still hyper flash but no light from front right, rear is lit.

The driver side is in good working order.

What fuse or relay number should I be looking for I don't have a manual handy with me since my fiancé has the car atm

Don't know as I don't have a wiring diagram but the manual and fuse panel covers have a chart. The TIPM has it on the underside however few relays as its solid state.

I doubt you've metered any of this and thats the road you'll have to down. Otherwise take it to a Auto Electric repair shop. Bad ground is sounding to be a key candidate here. Metering is the only way. There is a cluster of ground wires on a lug as I recall at front drivers cross member which is left of the headlight. If the vehicle was never rust proofed or sprayed a good deal of corrosion has likely set in. I would not be looking at fuse or such since generally there is power.

You should check that since its a critical problem with thess and not likely in safe condition being a 2007. Thread on that most get dealer re & re via Jeep paying but some dealer charge on top of it.

Thanks y'all I'm going to try and check out the grounds. Electrical is not my forte but if you can give me a kind of "crash course" it would be much appreciated

I am currently having a very similar problem with my 2007 Jeep Compass. Did you diagnose the cause to the problem? I've noticed that mine is not as bright as it should be. It is hyper flashing and claiming to be burnt out still I'd imagine it assumes it's burnt out because it isn't lighting up to its capacity as it should. Was the ground the cause of the issue?

I’ve forgotten all about this post. I found there was a bad ground under the hood on passenger side. Just to the left of the RF headlight there is a grounding post that a wire separated from. I just soldered a new section and it was back to normal.
