Eurocompass
Hi again.. it was a bummer to receive the call from my wife about the accident. Fortunately no one was hurt. That's what insurance is for anyway. (right rear door costs 1000 euros, before painting and placement....)
Petrol is quite expensive. Now we are just about at 1 euro per liter, that is about 5 dollars (us) a gallon.... Funny thing is that people used to buy the 3.7 liter Jeep Cherokee (still called Cherokee in Greece) and are now selling them because they are just unaffordable to drive around.
Fortunately, Jeep is considered a status symbol here , that means the vehicles retain their value , considerably over time. The bad thing is that the dealers are exclusive and parts cost are tremendous. For example- Splash Guards in Greece cost 80 dollars, while I found them on the internet for 23 dollars a pair, cargo net cost 90 dollars here, and I ordered one over the internet for 20 dollars again. Thank God for the e-commerce.
The good thing here now is that we can explore all the hidden beaches (they are truly beautiful) with the Compass, taking dirt roads and trails, while my Saab now sits at home....
