Only thing I notice that isn’t working properly is the average fuel consumption gage. It is now backwards and doesn’t function as it did previously
Other have reported that their units have switched from imperial to metic. Your consumption gage may be reporting litres per 100 kilometers, where a smaller number means better fuel economy. Check your units in the uConnect settings.

I got my update this afternoon YAHOO! I am going out of town for work so looking forward to being able to listen to my podcast. Only thing I notice that isn’t working properly is the average fuel consumption gage. It is now backwards and doesn’t function as it did previously. If anyone else can check and see if they have the same issue that would be great. Thanks everyone for the emotional support as I waited for the software update. Fingers crossed my sound works for my entire road trip tomorrow.
Go to factory reset, I lost „Home” function and after a factory reset it came back.
Now, I can say I begin to love my car again.
Keep my fingers crossed for you and everyone who must go through.

Got my update to FCA-MY22.S26.17-PROD yesterday. Went on an hour+ drive today (with the heat set to 70) and no fading issues to report, but we'll continue to monitor. I am located in Northern Virginia (not sure which software version I had previously, but my Compass Trailhawk was bought in December 2022). It looks like from what others are reporting a factory is warranted (any specific reason for that?). Thanks to everyone as we get/got through this!

I did do a factory reset and have checked the metrics. It is still not functioning correctly. It is something I can live with but my husband likes to have it displayed.

Received my long awaited update over the weekend. I have not experienced any volume fading, so it appears to be fixed. However something is funky. The sound from the Alpine speakers is noticeably off. I also have to have the volume at 8 before I can hear any audio. Everything seems much more muted.

I had been working with a case manager at UConnect who said once I received the update they would offer compensation for the trouble over the last almost 5 months. Here is what they offered this morning:

I have requested a service contract be added for the inconvinence of the volume issue. The service contract will be added this week and will be valid for 2 years/24 months.

The service contract includes:

• Auto Appearance Care Plus
• Windshield Repair Coverage
• Carpet & Floor Mat Coverage
• Interior & Trim Upholstery Coverage*
• 1ST $45 Day Rental or Taxi Reimbursement
• $100 Towing/Roadside Assistance
• $1,000 Trip Interruption Protection

Oil/Oil Filter and Lube dealer payment is capped at $50.

Not at all what I had in mind after many visits to the dealer, countless hours on the phone and +700 hard resets of my radio.

Glad you mention this. I have not received the update yet (11 months and 4 days with the problem, but who's counting?" But for months now, durring the time the radio plays before it times out it doesn't sound right. Most of the sound comes out of the front 2 speakers when the mixing control is in the center. I have to put the mix control most of the way to the back to get all the speakers to play and then the sound is very muted and doesn't sound good at all. I was hoping the OTA update would fix this, but your post makes me think it may not. The other symptom I have is zero bass out of the sub woofer. Adjusting the bass up or down has no effect on bass at all. I remember when we first got the Compass the radio sounded really great, at least until the volume went away. No it doesn't sound right at all.
Your description of "muted" is a good description of what mine sounds like too. I get the feeling that the OTA may be only the start of trying to get the radio fixed.

Maybe the error message was an error itself?
Called uconnect and they said if I pressed ok from the error, and am able to see the new version, and use the radio as normal, then to disregard. if it pops up again and prevents me from using the radio, then take to dealer and re download update. so we will just have to wait and see.

Apparently now they all have access to this update, at least that’s what the uconnect specialist said
Hi Pavlos,

This is correct. A new service bulletin was released for a USB update option attached below.

Hi KCM,

If you haven't received the update over-the-air yet, a TSB, 08-065-23, was released to receive via USB update by the dealership. Here's a screenshot for reference if you'd like to share this with them.

Hi Ramtuckian,

Have you tried the factory reset steps after receiving the update? If this was already applied and didn't help improve, please let us know and we'll research into it for you.

Hi Hockeymom,

Glad to hear the update reached your vehicle! I'm happy to investigate further into the fuel consumption gage and check for any insight on this for you.

How did you guys get the update
Hi marinluis97,

The update was released over-the-air, but if you haven't received it yet there is a USB update that can be applied by the dealer per TSB 08-065-23. Feel free to PM us if you need help or have any questions.

Just an update from me. Still no update and sitting at 17.99. Jeep tried to help. Thanks Steph. Last recommendation is to bring to dealer to see if they can update it or they may have to get me a new radio. I’m the one from earlier that had the update fail and never got it to come back. I was hoping and praying it would come back, but nothing. And Jeep told me that the update push will end come March.
Hi Starshift,

If the update hasn't circled back, you can visit the dealership for a manual update via USB through TSB 08-065-23. Feel welcome to PM us again if you'd like support working with them.

We bought our compass about 2 months ago and we are having the fading volume issue. We have version 17.99. My wife is on a road trip from Chicago to Edmonton Canada. During this trip she lost the volume and even when she stopped for a while it only lasted 5 minutes. She is going to be in Canada for a few months. My question is will the update reach her even though she is out of country.
Hi augie2893,

As long as the vehicle is in range of US or Canadian cellular networks, the update should be capable of reaching your vehicle. Another option would be visiting an authorized Jeep dealer in Canada to assist with the USB update per TSB 08-065-23.

Hi Steph.

Thanks for the response. Just spoke with the dealer today and they told me they cannot do the update manually that I just have to continue to wait. What they will do is reset the radio, disconnect the battery etc. to see if that helps. I doubt that is going to help at all. Worst of all, I can’t get an appointment until March 29th. Perhaps they have not heard about this TSB 08-065-23? I just wish I could do the update myself via USB. Very frustrating, but I’m remaining patient.
