I'm upgrading my tires from the stock Goodyear Wrangler AS tires to something that will work in winter. I don't know that I want to get snow tires because we're in southern PA and the winters generally aren't TOO harsh.

I have the Trail Rated Jeep Compass with the FDII. My OEM tire size is 215/65/17.

Can anybody give me any recommendations? Should I look for tires of other sizes, as well?

Thanks!

Right on another FDII Owner.

If you aren't looking to get dedicated snow tires, Hankook makes an all weather tire, which is an all season but more of a focus on winter performance.

Down side is the closest size is 225/60/17 it is about 2/3" smaller diameter around.

The problem is there isn't a huge amount of selection of tires in the stock size that I have experience with.

I have used 235/65/17 (use that size now with some slight rubbing) I have the Cooper Discoverer AT3 on right now and it works great in the snow, it is a bit slick on pure ice but most tires are, with it I don't feel the need to buy a dedicated winter tire anymore.

What is your price range like.

I live in SK Canada and we get stupid cold winters with lots of snow, for 1 season on my old FDII jeep I ran hankook optimo 727 tires, rated very high online and they weren't terrible in the snow, with the 4x4 it was quite easy to get around, but obviously nothing will work quite like a snow tire.
