Leased a '17 Limited starting mid-June...and the vehicle has been back to the dealer SIX TIMES for door lock problems. AUTO LOCK ON EXIT works about 1/3 of the time...(drivers door always unlocks; remaining doors only sometimes)...and on FIVE OCCASIONS...using the door mounted manual unlock button (because AUTO UNLOCK FAILS) causes the alarm to go off when opening the rear door. silencing the alarm is ALWAYS an adventure...i'm sitting in the drivers seat, holding down the remote buttons...and the dash display indicates REMOTE OUT OF RANGE. my neighbors have probably come to hate me...
the dealer first couldn't replicate the problem...then, when i showed it to them more than once, they agreed to escalate my concern to some regional rep. after that did NOTHING...the dealer encouraged me to bring the matter to the attention of jeep customer care...and although they facilitated action; some mysterious 'uconnect control module' that NO ONE CAN REALLY EXPLAIN TO ME has been shipped to my dealer, and my compass is there for the 7th time presently having it installed.

honestly...i have had the car 12 weeks (took delivery on 6/16). it has been in the dealer's service lot for A DOZEN DAYS...and i have been provided 'courtesy transportation' on FOUR DIFFERENT OCCASIONS. the vehicle currently has just over 2K miles on it....

beyond this apparent inability to diagnose and correct an electronic problem with uconnect...this car lacks so many features a consumer might expect in a top-trim $34K vehicle. my disappointment grows each day as find myself challenged by all that this vehicle DOES NOT HAVE, like:

[*]memory seats
[*]proximity sensors for back-up warning
[*]an overhead eyeglass compartment (are you kidding me? a $10K KIA has an eyeglass compartment!)
[*]a top-of-the-line uconnect system that obnoxiously advises me of weather warnings 1K miles away
[*]that same uconnect system that fails to stream SXM data...when the cheapest radios do so
[*]that same uconnect system that just CUTS OFF...goes black...and resets in the middle of my commute

this is my first jeep, but not my first Chrysler product...nor it is my first mid-sized SUV. i like several things about the compass...but i wish i had been more thorough in my assessment of the vehicle before signing that three year lease agreement. although i see jeep vehicles virtually everywhere; i will likely never again consider owning (or leasing) a jeep!

Wow, sorry to hear you're having those problems.
Do you know if the Lemon Law covers leased vehicles? Something to look in to.
Do you have the option to take it to a different dealership, even though you've contacted customer care.

With the UConnect weather issue, you should be able to disable it. I believe it's part of the SXM infotainment. I went to set mine up, but it only offered (like) 5 major cities. None which I'm close to. So I chose not to "program" it. It also sounds like you have a bad UConnect radio.

The proximity sensor (at least with the '18) is an option.

Don't base your Jeep dissatisfaction on one bad apple.

Hopefully a firmware update solves the majority of those issues on the Uconnect. I've only had an issue with the autolocks not working consistantly(which seems to be a somewhat common problem), so I'd expect to see those things patched up. The earlier builds seem to have more issues with rebooting, I've only had mine for a couple of weeks but no rebooting yet (even with switching between apple carplay and android auto during longer trips).

We have had similar issues on the 8.4 Uconnect as OP, but not the door lock problem - but we have a 2017 Trailhawk, not the Limited. Our 2018 Latitude will only have the 7" screen without Nav because I ordered a manual transmission, so I don't expect to have similar problems - but probably will have different ones! These infotainment systems seem to be buggy, and not just in the Jeep. My 2015 Honda Accord has freezing problems, call audio confusion, transfer confusion, and sometimes the playback through the bluetooth from my phone freezes/blanks out, and I have to turn the car off and back on... not such a big deal because it's a manual transmission so I'm able to just coast - kill it and restart it while running down the road, though not the SAFEST maneuver LOL!

As far as lack of storage space, i.e. sunglasses, I agree - it's definitely a feature we have had previously that we miss (as in we had it in our 19 year old Camry!) ... and the lack of a space to keep a cell phone! We have Apple Airplay, but have to put the phone on the seat, or in the cupholder, or buy a mount for the air vent, or put it in the net compartment (which is too far away when we need to use the actual handset for something - like when the uconnect craps out... )

I'm going to design and build a new cradle that fits in the tiny change compartment so that the phone can be mounted, plugged in, and handy at the same time, while not blocking anything, or rattling like crazy (like the vent-mount we bought does)... I have a plan, just need to implement it :)
