Hi everyone, I recently purchased a 2011 Jeep Compass Latitude 2.4L 4x4 and unfortunately I've already had a few problems with it. My main issue is that it was violently shaking when I was stopped in drive at stoplights. The check engine light was also on, and it turns out that at 66,000 miles it already needed the catalytic conveter replaced. So the dealership took care of that and the shaking is A LOT better, but it's still vibrating a bit. I also realized that the hood doesn't seem like it's very tight on there so that could be what's causing the noise it makes when it vibrates. I'm taking it back in to have them look at the motor mounts to see if that could be the problem but I wanted to see if anyone else has dealt with the same issue? Thanks for any help! It's my first nicer car so I'm trying to make sure everything's all good on it haha.

All sorts can be wrong. CPS failing, checking for codes if they tell you will narrow down the areas. But the fix is not cut and dry. If its a CVT and its shaking or shuddering coming to a stop, Then the tranny is shot and a very expensive repair. Good luck I hope they gave you some power train warranty when you bought it. I'd never buy a used one knowing the background on these.

Hi scoobysnacks,

If you decide to visit your local dealership for diagnosis I'd be happy to follow up with them for you. Just PM our page with your VIN and contact information!

I bought a 2016 Jeep Compass with 5miles on it in December 2016. I love my Car...until it reached 6,000 miles. Then the vibration started. It only does it if you stop at a stop sign, light or going through a Drive Thru..(examples). I've had it to 3 different Dealers and they all told me that this is a "normal Characteristic" for All Jeep Compasses. Some do it and other's don't! That is what i was told by all 3 Dealers and from my Case Manager, yes I had a case opened. So I guess I got the short straw of the pick. Chrysler Jeep should not be selling Us, the Consumers a $27,000 vehicle knowing they have problems. If this is a "characteristic" of these Vehicles, then they should be telling the Consumer before they buy them! I truly loved my Jeep, but I will not be paying $27,000 for a vehicle that vibrates. I've had cheap junkie Cars that ran better than this. All I want is my Jeep to be fixed and ride like it did when I bought it. I've test driven other 2016 Jeep Compasses and they did NOT vibrate. Please just fix my $27,000 vehicle. Chrysler you are selling the People junk Cars and you know you are...false statements of this vehicle are being fed to Us.
