Hi: I purchased my Jeep Compass (its a 2017) and is still has the 3 year /30,000 warranty - I was wondering where do I find out what is covered under this and what can get fixed and
what can't. I was wondering about the battery? I know the battery is only 1 year old - but if I have issues could it get replaced and covered under warranty.

Thanks Dave (Car has 20,500 miles on it)

I suggest you should sign up for the Jeep Dashboard. That gives you all the basic info on your vehicle.

The warranty is in your owners manual or online:

It doesn't specifically mention the battery, far as I can see, but typically a battery would only be covered for the first year. FCA batteries are generally cheap crap and will fail within the first few years, so you will be buying a new one. But pretty much any decent quality aftermarket battery will last longer than the original, so your second battery should last several years. It is a wise move IMO to go ahead and change the battery before it fails - the process of having a dead battery, then jumpstarting, and straining your electrical system to try to recharge a failed battery, can lead to a lot of electrical problems that cost much more than a battery.
Personally I think of the original battery as a sort of temporary battery that I know I will replace with something better.

Along the same line - FCA electronics are also crappy. It doesn't take much to cause problems. You really don't want your car to be jump-started and you sure as hell don't want to use your vehicle to jump-start another vehicle. Carry a portable jump starter if you want to be able to jump start another vehicle.
