Hey, so I have had my compass for 3 months now, and its been in the shop 5 times now for a leak that occurred on the driver side floorboard and in the back seat, my guess is it was wet and leaking since it was put on the lot in June. I never thought to check the floorboards for leaks on a brand new vehicle but I should have. So it has went in and got "fixed" once. and then gone back several times because the dealership was too stupid to replace the wet padding they just half ass dried it off. so last night I get in the car and inside the windshield is fogged up like 2 people been making out in my car for 6 hours non stop. So I get curious and check the floorboard and its soaked so much that if I push quickly on it i can make water splash up. The majority of the leak is right infront of the seat rails on the left side im guessing that is where the water is pooling up. I checked the rest of the vehicle and i noticed under my rubber floor mats on the passenger side rear floor there is condensation underneath them as well and the floor has a cold damp feeling but very minor. the passenger front seems totally fine the floor is dry and no condensation under the mats. To make matters worse this dealership basically destroyed all the structure of my floor when they pulled up the rear floor and I can now put my fingers under the trim in the rear seat . Has anyone else had this issue with their compass leaking? this is the second time and if it leaks again I am going to try pursuing the Delaware Lemon law . Does anyone have any suggestions or comments or experience with this issue? Thanks

Do you have a sunroof???

I had this problem with a previous vehicle. The drain hose, from the sun roof had a kink in it and wouldn't drain.

As soon as they replaced it, everything was fine

Very interesting. We just got a new Jeep Compass and we had the same thing. Week after our floor mats were soaked like someone dumped a bucket of water in it. Also the condensation on the inside of the windows was so thick the defroster would not dry it up and if you wiped the window it would drip. We took it in to the dealer and they had a leak guy check it out. It was determined there was a leak coming from the cowling between the hood and the windshield dripping through the A bar. They ripped out the carpet and replaced all the carpet. So far so good but not happy that a brand new car had tons of water in it. As well it took 3 weeks to get car back. Have you got your problem fixed?

So I have look in on this kind of thing and from what I have read it could be two thing. One is the previous spoken about the kink in the drainage tube in the sunroof and the other would be the drainage of the condensation of your ac. This hole is in the the engine bay which can get clog up from time to time and if it does water can leak inside the floor boards

I have a 2018 Compass Trailhawk, and it seems that every time it rains the passenger side of the vehicle is soaking wet. We had a rain storm last week, and I used my wet/dry vac to vacuum up the soaked carpet.... I vacuumed 4.5 gallons of water out of my floor. Where is all this water coming from? Any suggestions or advise?

The long plastic pieces undearneath the bottom of the doors are called rocker panels and drain water off of the vehicle. On the compass if you look underneath you'll see these plastic tape coverings. Take a flat head screw driver and stick through them and water should start pouring out. They filled the rocker panels with foam for sound detonation but all the foam prevents the rocker panels from draining and it spills onto the floorshttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClLdggEgNhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K_B-GXhRVaIQI

I have a 2019 Jeep Compass and just noticed yesterday that the carpeting was soaked under the rubber floor mats. Both on driver and passenger side.
I've been using my AC a lot because it's been pretty hot and humid in the north east. I made an appointment with dealer to see if this can be resolved.

I’m having the same problem with my 2019 Compass. I bought it in November and I discovered this yesterday when I went to vacuum the floor mats. I’m going to the dealer on Friday. How’s your issue?

Hi,
Do you have a sunroof? I had water leaking in my 2019 compass. After 2 trips to the dealer they found it was a kink in the sunroof drain hose. So far so good after the fix.

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass (no sunroof) I found out on Friday that I had a huge puddle on my passenger side floor. I called it in to get checked and I have to wait for 3 weeks. I vacuumed it out Friday afternoon, did not drive it all weekend, and by Monday afternoon I had a huge puddle. I did drive it Monday to work and home for lunch but that's all. Has anyone solved their problem on why this happened??

Whatever became of your leak issue? Did you get a new vehicle?

I have a 2019 with a sunroof. 2 trips to the dealer I thought problem was resolved. I was wrong, still leaking. We had lots of rain yesterday and my floorboards were damp.
I thought it was only with vehicles with a sunroof. Clearly not since yours doesn’t have.

Damn.. I hope the dealership will find out what is wrong with it. I bought it new (only 13 km on it and I think I am only at 8300km now). I have the appointment on Dec 18 and I called to get on the cancellation list, but apparently everyone has been showing up to their appointments. When I go for my appointment I will make sure to update, if they found anything.

I have a 2018 Jeep Compass. I do NOT have a sunroof, so that is not the cause. The water comes even when I don’t use my AC Or even when it doesn’t rain. I don’t see any wet or damp spots along the door to show evidence that it is coming from them that. The water sits primarily under the passenger foot area. The top mat does not get very wet, but the bottom may and then when I pop off the clip to see the frame under the carpet, I can see an inch of water.

what else am I missing here?

Hello! i've just joined the community.
I'm following this thread because I have exactly the same issue... I don't have a sunroof.. New car, bought about one month ago (2020 Model). I'm from Italy and I noticed a significantly amount of people here have the same problem..
I have and appointment with my dealer next week, so I'll let you know.

Some says there is a lot of cars produced in Mexico that have a bad welding under the floor of the front passenger seat, so the water leaks inside from under the car..
Others have experienced a bad fastened drainage tube of the A/C.

I vacuumed about 4 or 5 liters of water out of my car, mostly from under the passenger foot area..

I'll keep you posted
