My 2017 Compass High Altitude with 51k on it - Not really driven hard had both rear wheel bearing and hub assembly's replaced ! ABS light was on and the 4wd. and traction control lights . But the strange thing was the fan relay center wiring harness rotted and causing the engine light to come on ! $1700 later all fixed I cant say I've ever replaced a wiring harness especially on a 4 year old vehicle !

I did on my 2008 Patriot but that was after 210,000 miles and seven NH winters. I was getting screwy warning lights and persistent battery run-down. For anyone with a 1st gen Compass (sibling to the Patriot), there is a potential weak spot in the harness directly below the battery.
Hi ; I have a 2011 Compass Eu export model Sport 4x4 2.2 CRD with the Mercedes engine Om 651 ; FOR SAFETY Eu requirements AT the Eu import requirements THEY JUST CUT off abrutly the underneath plastic cover TO allow recuers IN case of engine FIRE TO have an underneath access on the right corner JUST right on THIS weak spot of the Compass electrical junctions ( relay box ) ! IT MAKES it a huger PROBLEM FOR us ! May BE WHy ?....so far Sô GOOD with THIS ....but im over looking THIS weak spot also spraying electrical connectors cleaner yearly whenever I see a relay box ! So far so good ....
EU ! RESCUERS procedure !Right underneath corner SPRAY ! THEY dont spray WATER !......weekly !!!!
