Glad to hear many are getting their issues resolved…
My update from 17.98 has not happened.
We were out of town from 2/16 until yesterday and I full expected to return to an updated version. I know that software updates can happen in my garage which is in the Chicago area, had several on my ‘19 Bighorn that showed up with a simple acknowledge screen.
Needless to say, very disappointed. And now it looks like I have to expend time scheduling an appointment with a dealer to get the update.
This has been a huge cluster…
So, yesterday the update finally came through. Apparently the reception in the Compass is not as good as my Ram. After going through all the updating (thank you to everyone that posted experience and instructions) I had a pop-up stating something like ‘UConnect error, get service’. I was already taking the unit in for routine service, the same message popped up 3 times completely obscuring the screen while driving to the dealer. I asked the service to address the issue and they told me there was a known problem and it would not be addressed for some time, just ack it. (ugh…what now?)

I also noticed the automatic climate system switching between blowing warm air and cold apparently air conditioned air. Mind you the temp was 35 deg F outside. I can understand some cooler air while the car is warming up, but why would it switch back and forth To the point of being uncomfortable. Anyone else notice this?

I have not received the update yet and the car is showing the issue more consistently, is there a number I can reach out to with my vin to get this prioritized? The car also started showing errors for the brake system and the screen glitches from time to time. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You might try this number (877) 855-8400 or reach out to @JeepCares on this website. I've flagged them with this post.

I don't know, but if you're getting error codes that aren't attributable to the volume issue, they may be legitimate warnngs.

Hello,
I am currently experiencing this issue with my 2022 Jeep Compass where the volume fades after a period of time.
My software is currently at R17.99. How can I get the update pushed to my vehicle? Tried posting to JeepCares but it's not allowing me since I am new.

Just wanted to update folks here. I had my appointment at the dealer yesterday. I brought a copy of the latest Technical Service Bulletin with me. They were all aware of the issues with the radio. They had the update and updated my vehicle. It took two hours, but I enjoyed a cup of coffee and a free snack while I waited. Happy to say I’m all updated now to the latest version. It so far seems to be great, but I have not yet driven more than a half hour. I do like the marble background of the updated software.

Anyway, patience paid off. It was a long wait but sometimes things are out of our hands and we just have to trust it will get done in time. For those who have not received the update, go ahead and check with your dealer. They should have the update available now. And thanks Steph for all your help!

I do hope in the future they give us the control to update ourselves. That would be easiest and save a lot of heartache. I will pop in here later to give an update. Otherwise, love the Compass Trailhawk.

How do you know when the update has happened? I don’t think mine has had an update & now have an appointment at the end of the month for the dealership to do the update.
I turned my car on the morning and got a message on the screen that said there was an update to process. And then it just started downloading the update it took about 25 minutes.

You're welcome anytime, Starshift. It's been quite the journey, but I'm very glad to hear you received the update so you can enjoy your Compass!

In regards to the new update. I wanted to update on this thread. It did not fix the radio volume problem as soon as I turned my heat on this morning the volume problem started again. Is there a solution to fix this? I thought this update was supposed to fix the glitchy volume issue.

I was able to get the update by taking it to the service department at my dealership on Friday, Apr 7. They updated it via the USB stick method, took the tech about 4 hours to complete. Purchased a '22 Red Edition at the top of March and noticed the radio fading issue right away while driving it home from the dealership. Waited over a month for the OTA update, and nothing. Why isn't there a way for me to push an OTA update on my end?

They told me it happens at random. Unfortunately the update did not fix the volume issue. I am going back to the GM. At this point I am ready to get them to give me a different car. I love my JEEP. But my UConnect glitches all the time and this is my first brand new car. For 50k I would except it to work. I have been an Infinity owner for 15 years and switched.

It seems to me that the biggest complaint with the 2nd gen Compass is right there in the center of the dashboard. Technology has outpaced reliability by a couple laps. There's too much going through that touch-screen, and when that's the weak point, the whole vehicle suffers.
